My initial intention was to have a web site totally dedicated to closed stations and lines. It was only when I started to research through the family photo albums I found I was looking at history. Most of the locos and rolling stock have long since been withdrawn and gone to the scrap yard, whilst many of the stations have changed drastically since these photos were taken. So here they are, roughly 700 taken between 1980 & 1989 and a handful taken 90, 91 & 92 (sorry!)
I have grouped these photos into areas rather than loco order as its the actual locations that tickles my interest more.
I would love to hear any feedback on these photos, such as how much your local station has changed since or "Good Lord these are the best photos ever and my life has changed for the better thanks to you." Well..... You get the idea!
