Closed 3 June 1916
The Kensington & Richmond Railway
Not many people know about this stretch of line, why should they? it closed nearly 90 years ago! So why did I bother to trace it, you ask? Good question. Basically it's very near to where I currently work and I thought it would be good fun to take a few snaps one morning before work. (I KNOW I need a girlfriend!)
Photos were taken in the morning of 30 Oct 05 and Lunch time (Yes during my lunch break) of 1 Nov 05

Addison Gardens Bridge
We start on Addison Gardens bridge just north of Addison Road station (now Kensington Olympia) looking towards Shepherds Bush.
The railway branched off to the left. The right carries on to Willesden Junction.
I must get a photo when there's less vegetation on the trees
You can see the bump in the road where the rail way went under.
Addison Road is to the right.
Man this is brilliant!
Rockley Road
Looking towards Shepherds Bush.
Rockley court is on the track bed.
I wonder if the residents know why the building isn't on the street level!
Shepherds Bush Station
Yep. The site of the station looking towards Hammersmith.
looking towards Addison road.
You can see the church on the left in old photos of the station.
It felt really good to be standing there, imagining you were 100 years in the past waiting for a train. Mind you I got a few funny looks from housewives looking out their window wondering what on earth I was doing!
Looking towards Hammersmith.
Goldhawk Station
The line passed under the Hammersmith & City at Goldhawk Station.
Trussley Road
After passing under the H&C it the climbed up and ran parallel.
The embankment wall is still there.
Trussley Road
The line ran along up by the Trussley works sign.
I was going to go up there and take a photo, but I got scared someone would chase me off!
