EASTERN REGION

Ah the eastern region. Home of Alan Partridge, The Singing Postman, Sale of the Century and my late Grandmother.

I've included Essex, Anglia and part of Lincs.

Norwich - August 82

Everyone's' favourite locomotive. Yes it is!! A class 47  #47 5??

Norwich (I think) - August 82

A very "arty" photo. Class 31 #31 408. I believe riding behind a loco is called "bashing" and I bet the bashers will now be well jealous of me!

Alan believes with the position of the carriage washer the loco is heading out of Norwich and towards Great Yarmouth or Lowestoft.

Norwich - August 82

A more traditional photo of the same loco.

Anglia (Not too sure where, Ipswich perhaps?) - August 82

A class 03 shunter #03 197. Me in the foreground in the days before I learned how to master hair gel.

Alan says this is definitely not Ipswich which has 3 lines between platforms and looking at the platform support and the bleak location believes this to be Great Yarmouth. Can anyone confirm this?

Thetford - September 83

A nice full frontal of a Metro-Cammell DMU. Smashing!

Boston, Lincs - August 84

Look at the pretty flowers. Ooo and a red phone box.. Brilliant! Is the station still like that? Let me know please.

That's a 2 car Craven DMU by the way.

Braintree - 30 July 84

A truncated terminus, the line from Bishops Stortford closed in 1952.

Braintree is the home of the Voodoo people - The Prodigy.

Cambridge - 2 August 84

Jarvis Cocker copied my look you know!

Clacton - Early 81

That's about as varied as it got. Never a loco in sight. Classes 309, 308 & 312 EMUs Respectively.

Clacton - Early 81

Another EMU Class 308 and my Father's Vauxhall Chevette. You don't see many of them anymore. Probably a collector's piece now.
