Ipswich - 30 August 80

Loco 31 155. Lovely platform roof. Please tell me it's still there.

Alan informs me that most of the roof still survives on platform 3/4, although part had to be replaced to allow room for the overhead wires in 85.

Ipswich - August 81

An unidentified class 47 hauling containers. I really do love that roof, never noticed it until now.

Ipswich - August 81

Loco 47 583 (formally 47 173) County of Hertfordshire. Named that year I believe and probably given the funky BR logo at the same time.

Once again Alan has kindly added that the stripped logo  and extra white stripes were added to celebrate the wedding of Charles and Di . It fitrst appeared in this livery at the Stratford open day 11 July 81, although the red and blue had not been added to the logo at that time. Apparently the stripes were supposed to represent wedding ribbons.

My brother and I standing beside a BRCW class DMU.

Don't know why my brother is looking so glum, after all he is the one who had the looks and got all the birds in his younger years. Now he is going bald. Oh sweet justice!

Ipswich - August 81

Craven DMU. The same DMU as seen at Felixstowe on page 3.

Kings Lynn - Sept 83

A class 47 loco beside Kings Lynn Junction signal box. Wonderful.

Lowestoft - August 81

A Craven DMU about to arrive.

No that's not me in the photo, it's someone else trying to look like "Common people"!
