Flying Scotsman on platform 5 taken
from the old East end signal box.
City of Wells leaves City via West
end taken from i think the old MPD water tower ladder (note
mail/parcel vans on far left on what remains of Wellington Street
notice old style canopy.)
Again West end. note no overheads
which were the death of steam specials.
Again west end note how Wellington
street was lower than the modern station and with curved canopy.
Old MPD area looking away from
station.
Grand Marquie leaves West end now
wired. I think this was one of the last regular steam specials to
leave although network rail seems to be letting some run again. In
the back ground is a class 144 and two 141's.
Hammerton Jct - Date unknown
Hammerton Jct. The line to the right
go's to the old Bradford Adolphus street. The center lines lead down
the West Tiding union line via St Dunstans station (gone totally
unless you know where to look) and to Bradford Exchange
(Interchange) the far Left line is on to Hammerton St Shed which I
worked on to in the late 80's and is now a bus garage.
Nigel also provided this photo with
the blessing of the owner.
