Romsey - 25 July 81

A class 31 double header.

What a smashing little station Romsey is / was for varied rolling stock.

Ryde Esplanade - 92

Class 483 EMU #483 003. Introduced to the Island from 1938 LT stock in 1989 as the older stocks body suffered from severe corrosion due to the close proximity of the sea.

Ryde Pier Head - May 84

A TIS class 486 EMU #486 036.

Rye - June 84
Salfords - Mid 81

Me looking round at the EMU on the fast lines. This station has changed little over the years, although there isn't much to change!

Sandown - May 84
Shanklin - July 83

A VEC class 485 #485 043 EMU at the islands southern terminus The line ran on on to Ventor but closed in 66.

Shanklin - 92

9 years on with a class 483 # 483 033 EMU.

Southease - August 81

On the Seaford line in the middle of nowhere, served by a handful trains a day. Oh and that's my brother and I on the platform.

Tunbridge Wells - June 82

A Hastings class 202 #1016 DEMU, before the days of electrification.
