The Ebbw Vale line closed to passengers in 1962, not because of its lack of usage, but it got in the way of the freight trains. I believe the line is to re-open to passengers in 2007

The station has two trains a day for the ferry connection to Rosslare, Eire.

We were on our way to see Man U play Notts Forest that day. We walked in with 5 minutes to go and stood right down the front. Ah those were the days when you didn't have to buy a ticket at hugely inflated prices 3 years before the match. What has this got to do with Flint you ask? Nothing but it's my site and I'll say what I like!
